It is amazing and somewhat shameful what just gets thrown out.

Before they started locking the Little Caesar's dumpster after they closed I absolutely ate fresh (boxed! right on top!) dumpster pizza.

A lot of places also intentionally destroy whatever they're throwing away. So wasteful

I remember working at Home Goods and my manager destroying things before putting things in the dumpster. Not just home decor, but gourmet honey, english tea, preserves, dainty little tea cookies. It made me sad then, and it still does. idk... kindness is as easy as sharing things one doesn't need anymore

Yes! Their dumpster was actually one of the first we ever checked. Everything broken.

I also struggle with my energy levels. I try to have the mindset that my partner's mom has where rest itself is productive especially when it's healing and recovering. Productivity itself is a scam. Humans aren't meant to hustle even at home.

A very relatable read! I constantly worry about time, to the point where i feel bad if I spend time watching TV or playing games because that is time I could have spent on projects

I too find myself opting out of many enriching activities if it isn't also a friend hangout OR also leading to some tangible result or thing "of value" that I can share around online. I cannot remember the last time I played a single-player video game alone, comfortable with using time like that

I tell my wife I need ISS this weekend. Pretend we're on the International Space Station, nothing gets in or out except for possibly a fast food delivery orbital capsule.

@tabf5 Yep, whenever I do things just for me, I feel guilty for needing to do that. Working on just being OK with the fact that I need a lot of alone time.

i think long furbies are the result of very intentional selective breeding. their long fragile spines make them struggle to survive and find food in the wild. so like a corgi or a dachshund they rely on humans to feed and take care of the resulting health complications. source i used to be a long furby breeder in 2019.

I believe long furbies are actually not related to furbys at all, and that they exemplify convergent evolution. According to some theories, long furbies belong to the Mustelidae species and they share a common ancestor with ferrets

Gawd, I remember being 6 and looking at teens as if they were the sages of all wisdom. Now I'm in my 40s, and the folk in their 30s inspire in me a bit of a protective mom feeling. That being said, I consider many people younger than me to be wiser than I ever was at their age.
