THANK YOU FOR 100,000 VISITORS!!! Here's a photo update to celebrate, as well as a shit ton of new site buttons, a couple of sticker count updates, and a new fanart to boot. Still gonna be quietly working on that mysterious new "Main Works" page for the time being though

I plan to do the unthinkable... I'm going to finish my website. Expect things to be quiet for a while as I finally build out the "Main Works" page, the big thing I've really been wanting to make on Neocities. In the meantime though, a small update on sticker counts and such. Stay tuned

I actually didn't have any uses for it but now I realize I don't need the printer for my captioned photo updates anymore. Assuming this thing can get bright enough lmao

I should also mention that I try to only use Amazon whenever I'm in-between moving places or genuinely can't buy something anywhere else, I can't imagine how much wasted stuff is out there from Amazon's loose return policy. I usually buy in-person or off eBay (they sell new stuff too)

nothing wrong with using Amazon every now and then, I will say though, you should shop around. Not for the morality of it but because you can sometimes get stuff cheaper and/or faster if you order direct from manufacturers

heres what I learned: amazon has a program where they donate returned items to organizations and stuff!! my local spot where they find housing for homeless lgbt folks had some random stuff from amazon that was donated when I visited a creative event they hosted! neat stuff!! they should do that with everything thats returned imo

also, theres no ethical consumption under capitalism, so like.., Amazon is hard to avoid sometimes, when you need something (I work there. the greed people have is crazy. I have bruises on my legs from cat litter)

I'm sorry but sometimes you just know the kind of guy that makes a death newsletter and the best part is that you don't know you know that kind of guy until it happens. Brachy is great

now they need to add an addendum to the auto message "for realsies this time" I think is sufficient, for real glad they are okay

I'm personally on a mission to reclaim the idea of being a real American, but it's in a loving human rights and actual true freedom way cause that's what America is about. The American flag is for the real American people not whatever the fascist boot-licking bigots like to call themselves.

Also, the upside down flag represents a nation in crisis. In our nation is indeed in a crisis. Our working force is suffering right now from low wages and massive amounts of labor. I truly free society should also be one that takes care of its working class.

i really strongly feel this too. i was thinking about showing im from texas on my site and such and im like.. but i dont want to look odd-- at the same time, not a bad idea to use the upside down american flag. i like that

non-american here! uh, i do think that people undermine how important it actually is to see people who are OPENLY related to something and actively oppose it. actually, being from a conservative state and not being conservative and speaking about it is very based. it actually helps NOT normalizing harmful stuff and not treat it as default for any group or nation.

it makes people feel much safer and calm and not doubting themselves as much for holding an opinion that seemingly goes against a mainstream message in whatever group were talking about.

so say yes to mentioning your origin and say yes to reclaiming your identity and most importantly say no to whatever the hell your government or some group youre a part of is doing. 👍 keep up the good work y'all!

Glad this idea is well-received, I think using an upside-down US flag more often is the way to go

i don't think americans who like their country are endorsing everything their government does, its fine to represent yourself and your country without going like. "patriotic" about it. love your state! love your country! it's a beautiful land! the people in charge dont change that

unfortunate lore I know: the westboro baptist church displayed their american flag upside down, and a rainbow american flag sideways above it. kinda looked like the gay flag was fucking the america one in the ass imo LMAO... but its the westboro baptist church doing that so, you can imagine what theyre trying to say with that.

Yeah the "upside-down flag means country is in crisis" can be used to say many different things, but at least it's not a blanket "I love everything about the US" that displaying the flag right-side up does. It makes people stop and go "I wonder what kind of crisis that flipped flag is referring to" and not "God not another one of these lunatics"

I don't at all disagree with the use of the upside down flag. I think it's a good way to represent that this nation is indeed in crisis. But to people who are not aware of that, it could seem disrespectful or radical. It might alienate some from listening to valid concerns. Should we care about that? I dunno. But I guess I think a regular flag flying alongside a message of protest could convince more people to join.
thank you!
I've already submitted mine. Looking at the published entries for the first book however, full of professionally personal websites, I don't feel in the right place.
@dudalog - I know what you mean! Thought I'd find lots of sites like on Neocities, Nekoweb, etc and found a lot of really polished looking sites. BUT - my site is in there, too, and it definitely evokes an era and is not professional (but it's fun!). Soon as I figure out what stupid landscape my site is, I'm submitting it for the 2nd book.
oh wow how fun, i've submitted mine too!
Submitted
thanks for talking about this again, id seen your previous post about it but completely forgot to submit ,:]
this is sweet thanks for sharing! just submitted
thanks for the reminder! i had come across the internet phonebook before post-issue 1 but before submissions were open for issue 2. much appreciated!!
I submitted that, hopefully people visit my site haha (I can't get the book myself)
