Man, as many drawbacks to getting old as there are, I don't miss the emotional instability and impulsivity of my youth. Granted I was the extreme of undisciplined and ruled by whatever demon was passing through. For me, during youth it's easier to look the other way and just wallow in that, whereas when you're old, for all the bad parts of it, wisdom does start to accumulate and you can see a little clearer how your

own choices are making you miserable. I wouldn't go back to that, as nice as it would be to be young with my current brain. But I think that's just a contradiction.

How so?

You'll have to employ discipline, commitment, reason, and a willingness to go where the "data" takes you.

One can argue that makes life easier, at least in the long term :P

As someone who went from atheism to Christianity, my atheist period was a lot harder in retrospective lol It is true that I now place much higher moral and personal expectations on myself, but my faith has given me a burning passion for the things I love :)

Also, if you want to try the BSDs, I recommend trying GhostBSD first :D It is based on FreeBSD and comes with most of the stuff you'd setup anyway™ already done for you

vihmu, thanks for the insight into BSD. That's exactly what I need to know before embarking on any kind of BSD test.

I suppose the challenge is holding enough of the Bible in your mind at one time to see the “synoptic” perspective and I guess that becomes easier after a life time of reading it.

Love that quote, The beauty of the Mass and the power of emotion was a part of my early conversion but to expect that along each step of the journey would prevent us from seeking God for His own sake rather than just for the good feelings it gives us. Also rock music does need to make a comeback haha.
