I like this. The Train guy admits he's lying, so I gotta take Dasha's side in this drama

Dunno, maybe the poor guy doesn't know how to explain that his long-term girlfriend straight-up ghosted him one day and it's easier to just say she died. Who can say who's right?

Have you tried diet mountain dew? Lana del Rey has a song with that title and I can confirm it really hits (the dew, and the song to a lesser degree) at around 1pm during busy season when you're doing tax returns for 12 hours a day. I haven't tried it outside of that so cannot vouch.

When I was in college studying Comp Sci, I used to say that Mountain Dew made me a better programmer. I drank a lot of Mountain Dew. Then I dropped out of college.

To actually answer your question: I have tried it, but if I'm resorting to drinking diet Dew I might as well not drink any Dew at all.

I was going to eventually pick up Unbeatable, but I would be so infuriated to not get to beat my head against a difficult battle that I am glad to have read your review here. On the other hand, I now get to add Mixtape to the Skeppomended list with Wandersong and Wirewalk!

God, I hate it when games force you to skip over content involuntarily! One of my biggest pet peeves. It sucks ass that UNBEATABLE sounds so... boring. Sounds like a bunch of small issues piling up and up until the experience ends up feeling crappy. It looked really promising to me.

Sure grandad, I believe you, now lets put this plastic guitar back in the attic next to the Donkey Conga drums and I'll make you a cocoa.

i always find it interesting to find differing opinions on games that i personally love. UNBEATABLE released an update that fixed that strange "no retry" thing, so you can simply choose to retry instead of it forcing you out of the fight. personally, i found the exploration rather interesting, the dialogue was fun and when the game hits, it REALLY hits in my opinion. i am wondering what chapter you got to? the first-

and second chapters are pretty mediocre in terms of gameplay, but the midpoint of chapter 3 is where the game heavily picks up in my opinion. chapter 4 is FULL of rhythm game segments and it does make me wonder why they couldnt have done that for the earlier chapters too. could be the lack of money and time, i have no clue how this game was really developed

I made it to the coastal town, just past the lighthouse event (which I think I failed too, but at the time it seemed like a forced-lose section). I doubt that being able to retry a section would make it more *fun*, just less frustrating. Maybe the back half is a better game, but I feel so deflated at this point that pressing on would take more effort than I'm willing to give.

omg 50 ways to say goodbye, takes me back to middle school
Movies these days are *definitely* too long!
I'm genuinely scarred from certain moments in both Game of Thrones and Walking dead, I had to stop watching both and still think about them occasionally. Like I know life is cruel etc etc but why does your prime time entertainment tv show have to be so horrible!
All I want is to laugh and have fun literally all the time, is that really too much to ask?
Project Hail Mary - the book - was pretty 'mid' too. I just saw the movie the other night. It was okay. And I agree, at 60 years old, movie runtimes are a challenge on the bladder. And I'm going to have to face The Odyssey this Friday!
The theater is the only place where I'm willing to watch a three-hour movie. At home, I'm too distracted by all of the better things there are to do, like watching entire seasons of TV shows for the same amount of time
@Mark In my opinion, if you put together a huge resource page compiling notes for each chapter of the The Odyssey, you don't HAVE to face a movie adaptation, you've earned a pass!
@June Huh, maybe this is the real reason I don't actually watch movies anymore.
I struggle so hard to watch movies anymore, to the point that I seem to gravitate to anything 90 minutes or less because of my crud attention span, eek. I think my last one was Miss Hokusai, which I did enjoy a good bit!
i've heard that movies are longer and more epic because it's the only way to get people into the theatre any more -- theatres must sell an upscale experience ("event") to compete against streaming and the inertia people have on their couches. hence the huge reclining seats, long dramatic movies or over-the-top action/cgi blockbusters, etc. the mid-budget comedy is truly dead, i miss the days of 75m fluffy romcoms.
