Hello and welcome!
I'm Thomas, aspiring author and scrap metal enthusiast based in Alberta, Canada. I like writing one-off speculative fiction and fantasy stories about pirates, wizards, dragons, and superheroes, with occasional experimentations in murder mysteries, historical fiction, and short stories. I post new chapters every Monday, both here and on my Substack.

PATPCB follows Mal, a young mother who plans to leave all her earthly problems behind and start a new life on the far-off planet of Proxima Centauri B. Obstacles range from price of admission to the raging war standing between her and the shuttle, but chief among them is the responsibility of finding Tai-Song, a childhood friend who has mysteriously vanished in the chaos. In the mad search to find him, long-held secrets are revealed and her oldest wounds are reopened, forcing her to confront her true reasons for fleeing Earth.

And That's A Wrap!
Once again, all the thanks in the world to my beta reader @walkingoftheearth on Tumblr and my sensitivity consultant Lune Dube at Salt & Sage Books. I love how this story turned out, and that is because of their hard work and honest feedback.
Point A To Proxima Centauri B is now complete, available in its entirety for free on this page and on Tumblr, Archive of Our Own, and Substack! Thank you so much to everyone to stuck around to watch me drag my withering corpse over the finish line, to everyone who shared their kind words over the course of posting, and to those shared my work with their friends. Naturally, to reward your patronage, I must go on hiatus for the next eighteen months, but have no fear! My next project is close to being finished, and I'm hoping to start posting sometime in September/October of 2027. I will still be around in the interim on social media: all updates/announcements will be posted to my Tumblr and Bluesky accounts, so make sure you follow me there to keep up to date.
Between October 20th of 2025 and June 21st of 2026, storiesbythomas.yorniq.xyz saw 3558 visits! In the same time-frame, the listing on Archive Of Our Own garnered 389 hits! Thank you again to everyone who took a chance on an independent writer and provided me with a soft landing, and please know that I feel very confident in continuing to share my work because of how well you've treated me thus far.
Though all plans are tentative at this stage, I plan to do things a little differently with my next project. Depending on the length of the story, there may be two chapters posted per week rather than one, and update days will likely be over the weekend rather than on Mondays. I will probably not be drawing any more character portraits as I've reached the end of my artistic abilities, but I will continue putting together music playlists for each chapter. Other changes are only going to affect my end of production and aren't really relevant here, so I won't go into detail, but I hope to deliver chapters of a more consistent length and quality with my next project.
A very special thank-you to those who reblogged my posts on Tumblr to help me grow my audience: @hannahcll, @unadulteratedvoidmoon, @paranoiafromtheunderground, @pantylace, @mx-time-bunny, @harleyquillao3, @dotanukister, @stardustplanet, @eliza-001, @crayonpencil, @myjudgepsychicwolf, @i-shot-jfk, @svyqcyllv, @dvidcalalv, @norrie-seaweed, @chocolat-ledouce, and @acronymking4tdp! Thank you all so much for taking a chance on an independent writer and providing me with a soft landing, and please know that I feel very confident in continuing to share my work because you've treated me so well thus far.
One last time, I want to encourage everyone to consider donating to causes supporting the Kanien'kéha Nation, and give back to the people that inspired and influenced so much of Point A To Proxima Centauri B. Here is a selection of donation initiatives that will benefit the community of Akwesasne and the wider Kanien'kéha Nation: Ionkwahronkha'onhátie', KORLCC Kahnawake, Tsi Tyónnheht Onkwawén:na (via cheque or E-transfer to tto@kenhteke.org), and the Strong Roots Foundation.
Last but not least, I want to reiterate that since October 7th of 2023, Israel has kept the people of Gaza under near-constant siege, with the tacit and often explicit support from the United States of America, Canada, and many other countries. Since October of 2023, more than 70,000 people have been killed by Israeli bombardment, targeted starvation and famines, and blockades preventing the entry of vital medical supplies -- and that number is much higher, both in the present crisis and when you remember that Israel has been allowed to do this unchecked for 75 years. If you only have a dollar to give, please consider giving it to a family in need, via this spreadsheet, Gaza Funds, or Keep Hope Alive; alternatively, you can donate to an organization providing on-the-ground support in Gaza, like Ele Elna Elak, The Sameer Project, Gaza Soup Kitchen, Salam Charity, Watermelon Relief, The Isnad Foundation, Mona's Initiative, The Hussein Team, or Water Is Life Gaza.
Thank you very much for reading until the end of this final announcement, and for donating what you can. I hope you keep following my work, and I can't wait to come back in 2027 with something new. Happy reading!
