I just realized that I wrote in my letter that you didn't complain about your kitchen sink enough. I somehow MISSED your kitchen sink post! I am now revising to say that you complained about it the right amount.

MORE complaints? Sure! How come 99% of single-bowl sinks have the drain in the center or on the right? My pipe out is on the left!

Also forgot to mention my worst injury during the project: pinched my finger when I released the tape measure

I hate tape measure pinches. That definitely needed to be front and center in the story.

Made a bunch of small updates and added four notebooks to my Filled Notes 2025 page.

First off, adore the site name- bone folders are some of my favorite tools. Reading and I adore the play of "I Am a Giant Deep Sea Isopod" so far- clever metaphor! (I also love isopods, so it caught my eye)

I have some unfinished notebooks I need to finish journaling in. I'm not sure if it's the same as the striped knitter effect but I notice I'm more consistent with sketching when I can look back on what I've done before. So I've made a lot of progress doing lots of small sketches on a single page and coming back to them. The sticker tip is a good one!

I love your site layout. It's what the cool web actually looked like in the early 2000s!

Thank you ! That's cool, I love the old web<3

Nobody else will care, but you all will get it: I rescued 8GB of music that was sitting on my old computer for years and put it on my phone. AND I legally bought digital music from a place that wasn't Google, Amazon, or Apple. Spotify got me through some tough times, but I'm on my own now, baby.

I recently grabbed over 100 albums I had legally bought from an old HDD and re-experiencing all my old jams from 15 years ago made me get off the streaming train once and for all as well, hell yesssssssssss

I have an old mp3 player I'm trying to start up again, and if all goes well I'll be of spotify this year !! - it's cool to see other people doing this as well

Also left behind streaming a while ago and I don’t think I’d ever go back. Hoping to get my hands on and mod a chunky old iPod classic at some point but mp3 players do the job for now.

I unsubbed from spotify earlier this year and instead i buy albums from bandcamp with the amount equal to the spotify sub. Found some cool music that way! I really like online radios too. Check out pyradio

Kind of interested that so many web revival folks will use a pseudonym but then put their whole entire birth date out there for the world to see.

You make a good point. Using an pseudonym ensures a lot of safety. One thing people DO need to realize, though?

If someone knows where you live, your first name (and only your first name) and your birthday, they can usually sort out your identity, at least in America. For example, Andy from Oregon born on such and such date is probably the ONLY Andy born that day... :-/

Obviously more true than usual if you have a very unique name, but still possible in many cases if someone is being tenacious and seeking personal information. Be careful, folks. The internet is a perilous place at times.

the anonymity plays a large part in providing a false sense of security, and the supposed obsecurity of the indie web. still the internet though. remember those internet/general safety slogans drilled into your head as a child!
