Testing an update in beta that allows you to idle/spend hours or days in a chat without needing to reload. This hotfix is also intended to fix "disappearing" or "eaten" messages that send during long lasting sessions. This hotfix will also remove "ghosts" or remnants left behind by previously online users.

ICYMI: Chattable will be slowing down development due to me reallocating my attention to a new project of similar (arguably larger) scale than Chattable. Very exciting. Support & all services are planned to continue unaffected. Continue to reach out if you need help or something :)

It's a free anonymous file & web host, no signup. Host anything, for free. Still in the early stages of development, though it's got a solid framework and front end so far.

Messages sent within the past 12 hours have been cleared as I push this new update which improves UI issues like auto loading messages, sorting issues, animated scrolls, new way to view replies, and pinned messages functionality.

Old reply links will break, if you click on any "Replying to" link sent before today, it will not work. Hopefully this isn't TOO much of an inconvenience

Also, Messages sent between April20-May03 will load/render at the top of your chat histories due to last months sorting bug, everything from May03 and beyond will be at the bottom of the message history as expected. You can email me if you want your chat manually reordered for free if this bothers you. Just ask.

You can start pinning and unpinning important messages again in your chats. (Remember to style these messages differently so they can be identified easier)

You will be able to set & remove passwords on the dashboard, in order for the chat to load you'll also need to pass your password when you initialize your chats e.g. chattable.initialize({stylesheet:"chattable.css",password:prompt("Enter the password")});})

A maintenance window is scheduled from May 5th-May 10th, during this time you will not be able to access chat histories. Small conversation history will be preserved as long as a user is online, but these temporary histories will be deleted when no users are online in your chat.

I work a full time blue collar job, and these issues surfaced in the middle of a work week meaning almost no time to troubleshoot. That's why the maintenance window is so wide. The goal is to have everything fixed and chat histories restored BEFORE May 10th

Long story short, a bug existed in my message ordering algorithm which was created after transitioning from Firebase.

Short story long, Old messages on Chattable will remain jumbled/unordered unless you clear the chat or me via email to manually rewrite your room's JSON and chronologically re-order your chat history. As I transitioned to a custom script to generate time-based IDs for messages, I created a timestamps-related bug which chronologically jumbled messages unexpectedly when generating message ID's aka "push ID's".

While this has now been corrected (I think?) I would recommend clearing any chats that don't matter, new messages going forward should sort themselves correctly but old messages may (definitely will) remain chronologically jumbled. If you absolutely need to recover chat history (in chronological order) just email me the chat ID and I can personally fix your room's JSON/rewrite it.

Is this the cause for all chats being unusable currently? None are loading. I assume so, but would appreciate confirmation of my suspicions if they are true. No rush to get it fixed.
