The Neo-Neighborhoods is actually a mirror of the old GeoCities site (yes all of it! explore it it is fun) as it was in 1996-1997. Our main goal is actually to bring the neighborhoods back to NeoCities. Our secondary goal is to mash up the old with the new. This is all very retro and that is by design.

Anyone can join. And you certainly may. from the neighborhood index find the neighborhood you want to join. click the button for that neighborhood wich brings you to the neighborhood landing page. look at the top of the page there are three icon links one to view all the pages in the neighborhood, one to join the neighborhood, and one to see the commercial pages in the neighborhood. click the middle button marked

join. this will take you to neighborhood description page. read the description and if this is the neighborhood you want to join then click the YES link if not Click NO and pick a different neighborhood. When you click YES it takes you to a page with a form to fill out. fill out the form and click submit.

Thank you so much! Could I ask that you remove the quotation marks from the sites' titles? I only added them in the form so that it was clear they weren't part of the description ^^;

That's all up to you... all the neighborhoods haven't been opened yet. There is one that I really need to get open soon and that is heartland which was the catch all neighborhood on old GeoCities. It was for personal home pages, family pages and originally for pets as well until petsburgh came along. Your page can be in any neighborhood you want. It doesn't have to necessarily "fit"

While Area-51 is busy working on adding you to the neighborhood, we are reviewing your site, and it appears to be that it is hosting a collection of seperate and complete fans sites. we are happy to let you know that each of these sites can have a listing of its own each in the neighborhood of your choice! just submit each site using its own join form..

I wasn't sure if they could be listed seperately. I turned the main index page into a splash page so that followers could see what projects I'm working on, and I don't have seperate Neocities accounts for them and I am not a supporter (yet!) who can have seperate domains for their site(s).

To those sites who don't give us a site title for the listing here is the process we use to determine one --> use the site title in the title tag in the source code / in the absence of a title tag then we use the title in the main masthead image of the page / if all else fails we will make something up... please don't let this happen to you! (yes that is a warning) :)

hi ! i was wondering: is it possible to apply to multiple neighborhoods ? my site's got a little bit of everything so i was wondering (note i know that to form a request it's by email but i'm asking a question)

Questions are welcome here... at this time we'd like to limit each site to one neighborhood. But you get to choose your neighborhood. If there is a neighborhood you want to be in that isn't open yet, just let us know and we will add it to the top of the list!

I think some of your join links are redirecting to your profile, which is why people keep asking on here. I know I ended up on the profile at one point when I went to request.

I'll check on that... I know at the bottom of the main page there is a link to the profile so memebers can ask to be a featured page... that may be what you are talking about.

I am working of making a seperate page with a form for requests to be featured on the main page of the neighborhoods... it will happen at some point. I still haven't opened up all the neighborhoods yet, lol. Staff positions are also open, someday I want to put a page up so people can request to join the team. And at the end of year I fully entend to resurect the Lunar Awards!

When I first tried to join West Hollywood it redirected me to the profile. I want to say it was a link at the bottom of the page?

Yes Key the link at the bottom of the page is /not/ a join link. That link was for people to request to be considered for the feature page program. I fixed it so it directs to page based on that page from old GeoCities now.
