About this graph
What is this?

A collaboration map of the online music underground: mainly hyperpop, digicore, EDM, pc music, and the scenes adjacent to them. Each node is an artist, each edge is a collab.

The graph data is manually added, including all new artists and connections, based on available info. Collabs are sourced primarily from soundcloud and spotify uploads, but can include other independant findings, such as archive pages, Genius, and directly from the artists themselves.

What counts as a collab?
Features: a featured artist on a track (prioritised adding over production)
Production credits: artist A produced / co-produced a track for artist B
Co-production: two artists co-produced a track together
Official remixes: remixes that received an official release
Verified unreleased: IDs and unreleased tracks with collabs that have been proven to exist. (this includes deleted tracks)
Compilations: two artists appearing on the same compilation / album doesn't count; collabs must be within a single track
Flips & bootlegs: unofficial remixes and reworks without an official release are not counted.
Groups vs. Cliques

Groups generally represent a genre or scene an artist primarily belongs to. An artist can appear in multiple groups.

Cliques are generally tighter creative crews or collectives within the scene. Cliques are secondary, and an artist can belong in multiple. Cliques will stay assigned to an artist even if they have since left said clique.

Caveats & scope

This map focuses on the online underground; due to the manual nature of the data, it's not an exhaustive database of every artist in existence. Some more well-known names appear as nodes (misc/outside scene) where they have documented collabs with artists in the scene. Or if it's kinda funny.

Completeness varies. Some corners of the graph are more thoroughly researched than others. Not all artists, even in existing documented collabs, have been added - this does not mean they will not be included on the graph, and may be added later! Artists need to have at least one collab, preferably with an artist already on the graph, to be added. If something's wrong or missing, it can be corrected.
