Heavy. To be honest, even if one has faith in the idea of an afterlife, dealing with death is always difficult, especially when that death seems completely senseless. The fact that you took the time to remember your friend's kindness is meaningful though.

Society can be saturated at times with negativity bias and sensationalism to the point that it makes it hard to see our shared humanity. However, the sense of awareness and care that you have for others are wonderful qualities that help to bring it forth. I feel similarly in that I want to honor each life for the constructiveness that it has expressed. Cheers.
