About Me

I remember telling people in the 8th grade that I wanted to pursue a career in counseling and that desire only grew stronger over time. I have always been interested in the potential of people to grow in the face of adversity and that interest helped to spark my own journey towards wholeness.

Part of my process included exploring complex feelings around my past, including some difficult core beliefs. Doing the work was challenging but worthwhile and my therapist was paramount in helping me consider alternative perspectives.

As a therapist, I am interested in making space for others in a way that helps them to feel heard and understood. If you're new to the therapy process, it can be a bit intimidating. I aim to make therapy as accessible and comfortable as possible. This is your time and I want to make sure that is always respected and kept at the forefront. I use various styles of therapy (and you can find a list below) but essentially, I am just focused on seeing what does and doesn't work for you.

I graduated with my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Social Work in 2011 and I graudated Summa Cum Laude from both institutions. I gained my Clinical licensure in 2016, enabling me to practice clinical therapy with clients. I have additionally obtained a supervisory designation that allows me to supervise other Master's level clinicians towards their clinical licesnure.

I have worked in various settings and with diverse populations over the last decade or so. Before embarking on my own private practice, I provided therapy to people with cancer (and their families), medical students, resident physicians, fellow physicians, and members of my community who grapple with anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief.

I believe a balance in life is essential and in my downtime, you can find me traveling with friends, reading psychological thrillers, perusing garage sales, hanging out with my cat and dog, and playing board games with my family.

To me, life is best lived with humor, openness, and flexibility. I consider my top values to be empathy, connection, authenticity, kindness, and curiosity.

Whoever you are and wherever you are in your journey, I would love to have the chance to work with you. Feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss how we could work towards your goals.

What Our Work Will Look Like

Sessions are collaborative with space for you to move at your own pace. Nothing is forced or rushed.
You’ll get a balance of listening and practical tools you can use in your day to day life.
I aim to challenge you without shame or judgment and it is important to me that you feel comfortable sharing.
If we need to switch approaches, I am open to your thoughts as we work together. Fit is important in therapy and I want to ensure that our sessions are a good fit for you.
I invite you to make yourself as comfortable as you can while we talk. That means pajamas are encouraged, stepping away to take a break if needed is just fine, and having a snack or meal as we meet may be essential.
