New review: Red Hot Chili Peppers' original line-up finally reunites on their third album, and they deliver an album that's both an enthusiastic party soundtrack as well as proof of their growth. 1987's The Uplift Mofo Party Plan - https://grumpfox.yorniq.xyz/artists/rhcp#rhcp_tumpp

Thanks so much for the follow! And a really interesting treasure trove of a site you've got!
New review: the Peppers get a second start under the tutelage of George Clinton as the funk gets funkier and the punk gets punkier, resulting in something as scattershot as it is entertaining. 1985's Freaky Styley. https://grumpfox.yorniq.xyz/artists/rhcp#rhcp_fs

Thank you for the welcome! I loved looking through your site when I came across it, can't wait to read through more of your reviews. We have very similar Death Cab opinions, so I'm excited to see your thoughts on the upcoming album if/when you get around to it. (:

I'll definitely get around to it but it'll take a while! Should be arriving through post for me today and I'm excited to give it a listen, but I set myself a boundary of not reviewing anything until I've owned it for a good while so will probably write my thoughts down about it sometime next year.

Thanks for the follow and the shoutbox comment, really appreciated! Always lovely to touch base with fellow Sonicheads. Out of curiosity, did you ever visit any of the Sonic forums around the early 2000s, like SSMB? For some reason the Sonic2k moniker just seems so familiar.

Yep I did, and this handle has been mine since at least May 2000. Before then I had a different handle for a short time but this has been associated with me ever since. A few popular Sonic fans knew me then too, we used to hang out on AOL Instant Messenger a lot

Ah that's lovely, imagine we may have crossed paths a few times back in the day then! Flint was (and is) my moniker there as well.

And it's time for a brand new discography project - and I told you I'd pick an uncool one! It's the funky monks the Red Hot Chili Peppers who, among many other things, were one of the very first bands I fell in love with. And that's a huge reason *why* I wanted to cover them, to explore what their discog means to me in 2026 and to balance the critical and nostalgic sides of myself.

I don't listen to them much these days but there was a period in my early teens when they were a daily presence in my CD player - and that's why I'm kinda hyped to revisit this stuff and see how both they and I have grown, warts and all. So we start from the beginning, with the scrappy and troubled self-titled debut: 1984's The Red Hot Chili Peppers, https://grumpfox.yorniq.xyz/artists/rhcp#rhcp_rhcp
